Split is a beautiful city with plenty of things to do. We've been there twice in the last five years and are happy to share our findings.
The city is filled with amazing restaurants and shopping. The food is delicious, the people are friendly, and the weather is gorgeous. Split is known for its Mediterranean climate and its beautiful marina. It's an exciting place to go on vacation. In fact, it's one of the best places to go on vacation in Europe.

Restaurant Mediterraneo
With food ranging from the Middle East to Italy, the Mediterraneo will have the menu to fill everyone’s pallet whether it’s family or friends you are dining with. The prices are a little high, but I would say it is worth it for the freshness and quality of the food you receive. The service is quite slow, but the staff is friendly and talkative, all willing to keep you occupied during your wait.
From the interior design to the lighting the whole feel of the restaurant is very holiday-like and will leave you with memories you will never forget.
Chops Grill Steak and Seafood
From the service to the food to the atmosphere, I guarantee you will leave Chops and Grill with a smile on your face. The location of the restaurant is very good as it is based in the center of lots of tourist attractions from the Golden Gate and Historical Museums. The service is quite fast, and the workers are very kind and attentive. Chops and Grill offer lots of outdoor seating so you can enjoy your food while soaking in the Croatian sun.
The fish that is served is among the best in Croatia I have ever had, as you can taste the freshness and quality as soon as it touches your lips.
Restaurant Bajamonti
If you are feeling peckish for some authentic Italian food, then this place is for you. Bajamonti offers all things Italian from pizza to Pasta to divine desserts- all for a good price too. The restaurant is quite modern and elegant (very classy indeed). The location offers a beautiful sea view, indoor or outdoor. The dishes are presented beautifully and the service is decent. Another good thing about the location is that you can go for a walk along the harbour before or after dining here as it is only a two-minute walk away.
The restaurant is normally quite full, so I would recommend booking before leaving to eat.
Fife
Whilst in Croatia you will want to try some Croatian food at least, won’t you? Fife offers all sorts of authentic cuisines from simple chips and a side to complex seafood dishes. The restaurant is only a five-minute walk away from one of the biggest tourist attractions in the whole of Split- Diocletian’s Palace… so Fife would be a great place to pop into and get a meal or snack before or after visiting.
The service is very fast and the workers are welcoming and talkative, willing to help you out with the menu if you like.
Old House Street Food
From burgers to tortillas to sandwiches, this Old House Street Food sticks to its name and has almost everything street food you can imagine. The venue is very beautiful, with the perfect kind of lights and dimming- along with the bare brick walls. The service is incredibly fast and there are lots of workers there, making sure you are satisfied with your dining experience all the way through. The prices are very good, and the portions are huge- so make sure you have a hearty appetite ready for this hearty meal!
I have been here many times during my stay in Split and they have never failed to impress.
