Las Palmas is a city that features traditional Turkish and Arab food amongst a few Indian restaurants that have popped up, mostly catering to the tourist contingent.

The City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria at night

The Muslim community in Spain is growing in numbers due in large part to the influx of the large community from North Africa and the Middle East. The Spanish Muslim community is comprised mostly of immigrants from Morocco and Tunisia, with a smaller contingent of the Arab immigrant population from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Libya.

Las Palmas is one of the regions of Spain with a high percentage of Muslim population, and as a result, a high concentration of halal eateries.

El Rifeno

El Rifeno is somewhere you cannot miss during your time in Las Palmas. The first thing I need to talk about is the architecture and décor. The interior is mostly bare brick and limestone, complemented by the dim lamps spotted around the restaurant creating a laid-back and chilled atmosphere. The food is a bit pricey but I would say it is fair for the portions and quality you will receive. The service is very attentive and will make sure you are at most satisfied throughout your meal all the way to the very end.

El Rifeno also offers a large range of desserts from cakes to homemade sweets, a nice treat after your meal.

Monte Libano

The thing that stood out to me the most about Monte Libano was the view from the outside and the indoor seating. The restaurant is stood just outside the beach so you can see the beautiful ocean while eating your meal. The food is quite expensive but the taste of freshness and quality makes up for it all. The staff are very welcoming and help you with your every need, whether it is an allergy or just a simple taste preference.

Libano is great for a late-night or evening meal with family and friends.

Padthaiwok

With branches all over the world, Padthaiwok is one of the best places to go to if you’re feeling peckish for noodles and sushi. The interior is very street-food-like with lots of bright lights and neon signs, accompanied by bare-brick walls. The prices are very good for the portions you receive and the explosion of flavours that are packed into one dish. The staff are very kind and some speak Spanish and English, making it easier for those who use the languages.

I have been to Padthaiwok multiple times and they have never ever failed to impress.

KOBE sushi fusion bar

Kobe sushi fusion has got to be one of the best sushi restaurants I have eaten at in my life. From the California rolls to the mochi this place has it all. The menu is fairly priced for the portions of food you receive and there is a wide range of drinks to choose from too. The service is very fast and convenient. I would recommend the menu for two as it covers drinks, sushi, and dessert- great for a night out with a loved one or friend!

As I said before, the portions are huge so going here will definitely leave you full!

Meson Libanes Grill

Whether it’s the shawarma or the rice, I guarantee you will be leaving Meson satisfied. The dish I enjoyed most here was the falafel as you can taste the freshness and warmth of it as soon as it hits your tastebuds. The service is very good and will welcome you with open arms, they will also assist you with the menu if you are struggling to know what you want and the portion sizes.

The interior is very elegant and fancy, giving a chilled environment. The tables can fit a lot of people so Meson would be great to go to with family and friends.
